boy found dead - where's the mother ?

On the very day that I blogged about women and drug cases , how sad it is to hear about the death of 6 year old Muhammad Nor Rashidy Rahmat.

It's so tragic . A 6 year old boy found in trolley bag next to Kallang River ......how can anyone do this to a small boy ? a trolley bag ?

Police are treating the case as murder.

What I am most sad about is the sentence in today's papers -
"His mother is in jail for drug-related offences and his father's whereabouts are not known"

Why ? why ? why ? why bring a child into this world and leave him to fend for himself ?

Why ? why ? Why ?

I have been doing criminal and family work for more than 15 years now .... I have seen this scene of 'lost/absent/incarcerated/uncaring parent,neglected child' over and over again......but it still touches a raw nerve each time .......


Why is it still happening again and again ?

A silent prayer goes out today to all young children...............may you find happiness, stability and security and comfort in the arms of your parents ......
